Mr. Kashi Nath Memani
Former Chairman Ernst & Young, India Former Chairman, External Audit Committee of IMF Mr. Kashi Nath memani, a Chartered Accountant by training, specializes in Business and Corporate Advisory, Foreign Taxation and Financial Consultancy. He advises several domestic and foreign companies at senior levels.
Mr. Memami was Chairman and Country Managing Partner, Ernst & Young, India until 31st March 2004, and member of Ernst & Young Global Council for 10 years. Presently, Mr. Memani is on the board of various companies, including ICICI Venture Fund Management, HT Media, DLF, National Engineering Industries, J. K. Lakshmi Cement, Emami, Aegon Religare Life Insurance Company among others. He is also member of some of the foundations and charitable trusts as well as member of the Governing Council of some of the business schools. For two consecutive years, Mr. Memani was on the External Audit Committee (EAC) of the International Monetary Fund and was appointed the Chairman of EAC for the year 1999-2000, the first Indian so far appointed in the committee. Mr. Memani is the past Chairman of American Chamber of Commerce in India and former President of Indo American Chamber of Commerce & PHD Chamber of Commerce. He is also member of managing committees of various Industry bodies, like FICCI, ASSOCHAM, PHD, etc. and of various Committees of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Mr. Memani was co-chairman of the New Company Law Drafting Committee and first chairman of Quality Review Board, both set-up by the Government of India. |
